Tony Utter, Broker, CCIM, JD
Formerly a practicing attorney engaged in civil and criminal litigation, Tony Utter is a licensed real estate broker with over 30 years experience in commercial real estate. Prior to establishing Utter Commercial Real Estate, Inc. in the summer of 2003, Tony was with Transamerican Management Company for 24 years as Vice President in charge of leasing and sales transactions.
Tony’s background also includes a year with Builders, Inc., a subsidiary of Garvey Enterprises, serving as the property manager and leasing agent for a 280,000 sq. ft. shopping center and other commercial properties.
A life-long resident of Wichita and a 1970 graduate of Kapaun High School, Tony received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Wichita State University in 1974 and a Juris Doctor Degree from Washburn University School of Law in June, 1977. In October, 2005, Tony completed three years of course work and testing to earn his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.
Tony’s professional accomplishments include earning the Master’s Circle Award from the Wichita Area Association of Realtors, Inc. in each of the past 20 years and also winner of the 1990, 1991, 1995 and 1996 Top Production Unit Award given by the Association for the most commercial transactions.
Tony is Past President of the Kansas CCIM Chapter, Past President of the Board of Directors for the Wichita Area Association of Realtors and served as Chairperson of the Building Task Force for WAAR to oversee construction of their new headquarters at the WaterWalk in downtown Wichita that opened September, 2008. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Calvin Klaassen

Calvin Klaassen, Broker
Calvin joined Utter Commercial Real Estate, Inc. in the fall of 2007 with 29 years of commercial and residential real estate experience.  He started his real estate career in 1978 by opening one of Wichita’s charter Century 21 franchises with his father and brother. In the beginning, Calvin’s business was a combination of residential sales, management, renovation and investment brokerage.  In 1985 he joined one of Wichita’s premier commercial brokerages and later became the responsible broker for the commercial division of a large local real estate firm.
Calvin’s interest in real estate included a fascination with construction so he obtained a general contractors license and built several homes, did several commercial remodels and built a strip shopping center.
As a life-long resident of Whitewater, Kansas, Calvin attended the Remington USD 206 schools for all 12 years of his primary education. He then earned an Associate’s Degree in electronics from DeVry in Phoenix, Arizona.
Calvin has been an active participant in various professional and charitable service organizations. He served as a director on the Wichita Area Association of Realtors Board of Directors for several years and was elected President in 2001. He also served on the Board of WAAR’s Commercial Investment Council and CCIM chapter; and has been on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Association of Realtors since 1999.
In service to his home and work communities, Calvin was elected to and served on the Remington USD 206 School Board for 16 years. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Health Concepts Foundation, a Wichita organization charged with assisting projects designed to help the elderly.

Carolyn Utter

Carolyn Utter, Property Manager
During the summer of 2003,
Carolyn worked together with Tony to open Utter Commerical Real Estate, Inc., while continuing her full-time position as Marketing Director at Johnsons Garden Centers. In the spring of 2008, Carolyn accepted a full time position at Utter Commercial Real Estate.
As a life-long resident of Wichita, Carolyn attended Mt. Carmel Academy, Wichita Southeast High School and graduated Magna Cume Laude in 1987 with a BBA from Wichita State University, majoring in marketing with a minor in advertising. After graduation, Carolyn worked for three years at Harris Advertising before joining Johnsons Garden Centers as Marketing Director, a position she held for 18 years. During her years at Johnson’s, Carolyn earned her Kansas Certified Nursery Professional designation; co-hosted the locally produced “Johnson’s Garden Time” TV Show; published “Johnson's Garden Talk” seasonal newsletter, Weekly E-News and served as webmaster.
Shortly after joining Utter Commercial Real Estate, Carolyn became a licensed real estate agent in June, 2008.
